I upgraded my motherboard and reinstalled Vista & EMC9. Things were working well but Vista automatically installed the above mentioned update. Now when I open Disc Copier it seems to boot up, but after it loads all the .dlls the activation screen pops up. The problem is that there is no text, only the white page and the navigation arrows. Once this copes up there is no control over Discopier and the only way out is to use taskmanager. I followed the 'Clean Uninstall" instructions and attempted two seperate reinstalls with no luck. (I also turned off the anti-virus protection in case it was causing a problem.
Here's the wierd part - I have Nero 8. When I was burning a a cd using nero 8 I opened Disc Copier and the activation screen open up. This time it was normal and I was able to complete the activation. I'm guessing that it was because the burner was in use.

It looks as if that 'hotfix' managed to wreck a lot of things - I checked in google and found all sorts of complaints ranging from disabling custom theme support to e-mail problems.
If you can, I'd recommend you uninstall it
If you can, I'd recommend you uninstall it
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
