Just purchased this because the description indicated it included prof quality motion templates. Mine only came with 3 - a birthday, wedding, and plain. Am I missing something here???
thanks.

I hope we are all missing something!! I was promised "NEW! Great new Styles." I have MyDVD 6.1 with many more, BETTER quality styles. The 3 styles I got in MyDVD 8 "Premier" are nowhere near "great."

Did we get bad pre-release copies?

I'm guessing here (based on the subject) that both of you got the MyDVD 8 standalone product, not the Easy Media Creator 8, correct?

Did the MyDVD 8 Premiere come with a second Content disc? If so you would need to install that also. That's how the additional ones are added for MyDVD in EMC 8.

Correct. However, I didn't get the discs. I downloaded it from their site. I assumed that would have had everything included. Guess Not???

Then I would recheck your email that came with the download info to see if there was supposed to be a second file to download that is the content install. That's the way it is for the download purchases of EMC8, so I'm guessing it's the same way.

I got the CD in the mail. It only came with 1 CD in a signce-CD case. I highly doubt there are suppoed to be only 3 styles, esp. with the Premier version. I can;t seem to get in touch with a real person at Roxio who can tell me what styles are included.

How many DVD styles come in EMC8?

I did not receive a Content disc, but it would make sense if I did. The installation CD does have a folder in it that mentions "Content" disc, but there is no installtion option.

Are the 14 styles similar to the ones in MyDVD 6.1?

Never received any content disc either and have given up trying to get info from Roxio. Very frustrating!

Frustrating indeed. The AI online help is totally dysfunctional and the web chat has never been available. Call this number:
1-866-280-7694.
After calling international to Canada (the ONLY support phone number posted), a recording leaves to above domestic (USA) number. Thanks, Roxio.

I will call again, too, to get information before returning the software. We'll have to make a case, since they claim phone technical cost the big bucks. Sonic was much better support-wise.

There are plenty of other phone numbers (including the one you listed) and ways available for contacting them. They are either available on, or are avalable from links on, the Contact web site that can be found here:

That's all the menus I got with MyDVD 8 Premier. You should get a refund for MyDVD 8 Premier and buy Easy Media Creator 8 which includes MyDVD 8 Premier and all the extra menus on the content disc. It also includes the disc copy application which you need to burn ISO and Video_TS folders.

I paid $69.95 for MyDVD 8 Premier. For $10 more you can have the whole suite.

Wow! I am still using MyDVD 6 from Sonic. I counted at least 35 styled templates for menus. Many with motion, etc. What happened? I was considering MyDVD8...but really find no reason to upgrade. Plus with many of the issues with EMC8...I will keep EMC 7.1 on my other machine and be happy.

This is not Roxio support. This is a users forum, and we don't work for Roxio, so you are talking to the wrong YOU people. If you want Roxio to get your message, use one of the links to the left. I have.

You people don't have links to the left. Must be me settings...

BTW, I WISH you were Roxio tech support. This group has been more helpful and available than them.

There is a column of Support items to the left. At least they show up on my screen.

I think the "links to the left" are those product links at the top-left of the webpage. I contacted both Sonic and Roxio via the email/web support, but I have been ignored for the last 2 weeks. They still have not looked at my web ticket, which I finally submitted after slapping Roxanne in the face. Their web support portal does not list MyDVD 8 as a supported product, so I had to go thru the Creator 8 channel. (It's always good to release a product before you officially support it, BTW.) :)

Please let us know if you get thru to support about the "missing" styles!! I just returned my software and am waiting for a full refund.
