I'm trying to install EMC10 from a DVD.  I keep getting a message saying that the "installation was interrupted" and no clue as to when, where, or why the interruption occurred.  The only thing I can think of that may be wonky is that I upgraded my DirectX to the latest thing directly from Microsoft.  I restarted, then put the DVD in to autostart.  Then I got the interruption.  I tried it from running setup.exe on the disc and achieved the identical ends.
Advice In The Forums Helped Me Successfully Install, But I Didn't Have The Decency To Come Back And Let People Know.

Try copying the dvd to your hard drive and run it from there and see if that makes a difference.  Does it say anything else besides 'installation was interrupted'?

Also, when installing, turn of Windows Defender and any antivirus software you have running.

My installation also failed with a message that said the installation was interrupted, and there was no explanation given.

After extensive examination, I determined that I had a file corruption problem in NTFS (specifically c:\windows\downloaded program files.

I attempted a CHKDSK /F, which didn't work (it's supposed to repair the volume at reboot, since C: can't be dismounted as it is the system volume).  I wound up having to use the recovery console which is part of the 'repair your computer' option when booting from the Original Vista CD.

What a pain!! but since it was a disk corruption, it would explain why Roxio wasn't particularly good at describing the nature of the error.

Try this, it worked for me getting Roxio Easy VHS to DVD to install:

Open My Computer (or Computer for Vista users) from your Start menu.

Go to C: drive -> Windows folder -> System32 folder.

Look for a file called dsetup.dll in the System32 folder.

Rename the file to "dsetupOLD.dll" or delete the file.

Reinstall Creator 2009 (or whatever program it is) and follow the on-screen instructions.

You dug up a 16 month old thread, and the folks, who were having trouble with EMC 10, not Creator 2009, either solved their problem, or moved on.
