EMC9, Winxpsp2, Quicken H&B 2008, Used to be able to backup to CD/DVD straight from the program.  Now I get an error "cd backup error".  Any other program I use, I can write to that CD with no problems.  I currently have to backup to my spare HDD, then outside of Quicken, I copy to the Cd.  I think it is a Quicken problem?, anybody had any such problems and solved them?  TIA

Intuit has had problems, previously.  They have always squared them away, so it works with the EMC suites.

Sorry Bruce,  not quite following your answer.  A little background, Q2006 and EMC8 worked fine, upgraded to Q2007, not working.  Upgraded to EMC9, still not working, Upgraded to Q2008, no joy!  Considering going to EMC10?? I have had the suites for the past 3 versions.  I don't think Quicken is admitting anything?  TIA

Intuit did have problems with EMC 7 and EMC 7.5.  They also put a patch up on their website. Said patch probably is still there.

Was able to find this on the FAQ
"This issue occurs when you try to back up Quicken files to a CD that has been formatted by a third-party program such as Roxio Direct CD, Nero Burning ROM, and so on.

To resolve this issue, insert a blank, unformatted CD and then back up your file again.
Notes

It is not possible to back up directly to an Iomega Rev drive. However, you can copy your Quicken data file in Windows Explorer.

I have been using Quicken for several years and I have found that the best way to back it up is on a jump drive. I back it up after every use and have 5 years worth of data in quicken and it takes less that 10 seconds to back up on jump drive.

Let me konw how it works for you.
