If the preview looks perfect, then the video was captured correctly. Some computers have a problem with sync if they have to encode and burn at the same time. There ares some simple solutions to cure the problem.
First, make sure you hard drive is clean (no malware) and defragged. Shut down all other running programs such as your anti-virus (disconnect from the internet if you are worried about this step).
Most importantly, when you go to burn the DVD, select to burn to an ISO file and uncheck the other options. The program will encode the video to the ISO file. Make sure you have named it and selected where you want it saved . the default is C:\ top level. Once the project is encoded- this takes the most time- then copy the ISO file to the blank DVD using Disc Copier. This should maximize the chance that the video will be in sync.
If you want to check the sync before burning it to disc, you can preview the ISO file in Disc Copier.

Is this whole forum full of people saying mydvd recodes their audio and video out of sync and others constantly saying above, and constantly not fixing it!!
Has anyone EVER EVER EVER fixed the audio video sync problem?? My audio is about 1/2second behind the video and i have read many instances of this on this forum, with no solution.
And before you say it again, my computer meets the specs, I have the latest drivers, and have followed the advice religiously, does anyone have any new ideas?

Try a different brand/type of media, and make sure the firmware for your burner is up to date.

Read this Thread
The sync problem has been pretty well documented. There has been no update to version 9.X that has addressed the problem.
The above links to a thread that explains a workaround.. Actually it is a fix to the data file(s).

Firmware is not a driver. Find the make and model of your burner, then go to Hp's site to see if they have a frimware update for it. If not, go the manufacturer's site to see if there is a newer update. If there is, install it.

Ok, This might not be the answer for everyone, but I found a way around my problem. When my movie was encoding, the preview box was black, I didnt think much of it, I don't do a lot of videos. Any way I tried some old vidieo files I had and they showed in the preview box when encoding. Then the audio and video was in sync. It's something to do with the cannon dvd camcorder file that I was using? Anyway I played the cannon dvd in a player and re-recorded it to my camcorder then transfered it to my computer. I used that new file and all is well. I did loose a little quality, but it's better than being out of sync. Thanks for your input and I hope this helps someone else who is spending days going round in circles.

It started out as a mimi dvd from a canon camcorder, and I tried just ripping off that disc. And it worked fine in the project, but when you encode it, it would ony take about 3 mins. for the 30 min. movie and the encoding preview box was black( no preview ). Again I'm not sure why, but I tried enough other things I went off on my own to try some of my own tests.

I got a refund on mdvd9 and after recommendations on this forum bought TMPGEnc DVD....
Works perfect first time, mpg recoding is perfect. Audio and video are perfectly sync'd
Mydvd is flawed, and I believe this is why the support will not answer you.
If they got that to work I would love mydvd. Shame

How many "clean installs" did you have to do?

Just to confirm what others have said on this forum, although sadly it looks as if I have been silenced by a moderator the delay is 200ms....
The audio is 200ms ahead of the video in the files that mydvd has recoded.
Dont know why I should help but guess it backs up the others on this forum
