I want to add music to a slideshow I'm creating. Can I rip songs from CDs to my hard drive and use those. I know I can't use songs I purchase from iTunes.

As long as the cd is not copy protected it should work.Keep in mind some would still consider this a violation of the Copyright Act especially if the resulting disc gets distibuted to others.
