I developed a movie out of a couple of mpg files plays beautifully in preview and in my DVD preview but wont burn a DVD in MyDVD.

Went back to VideoWave and tried to make a movie there. I keep getting an error message "No common media type between these pins".

What pins what is it talking about? What happened to the good old days when software manuals had an error code list with descriptions and solutions?

Can anyone help??

The software you used in the good old days didn't do squat compared to what you are running today!

Your choice, simple like edlin or complex like Word…

VideoWave has no ability to burn anything. All burning is done by MyDVD. VW may transfer to MyDVD but it can't burn.

If you go under Home – Tools – Disc and Device Utility, what does it have to say about your Burner and the blank disc in it?

Any other details beyond your 'don't work' would be a big help here.

You can read through these threads, but I don't know if there is anything in them. I didn't read them.

Well for your information my friend, I just moved the files over to one of my many video programs and burned 10 copies onto DVD. We need to stick together on this, this software has a lot of problems. I have some of the best video software from Pro-cut to Adobe Premire and none has given me problems like this one.

I also have one of the cheapest and best there ever was and that is Nova Video Explosion. They dont sell it anymore but it's the best there ever was for under $60.00. I talking to the company right now about letting me sell and redistribute it.

There are two things that I like about VideoWave and that is a larger review screen and some of the 3D transitions.

So I also tried making the video on Video Explosion which took me all but 15 minutes to build and render, since I have 3 computers linked, I brought it over to another comp and brought the newly made mpg file from Video Explosion into VideoWave split the scenes and added the 3D transitions and then burned a DVD.

I have done a lot of tests (so far 60 hours) on this software and there are all kinds of glitches. Today alone I reloaded the software 3 times. But I don't give up I will figure out the problems and find out why the exist. So be part of the solution if that's your intention in this forum. It certainly is mine.

I used and taught enough software problems over the years since 1964 when when I worked on mainframes and this software is not user friendly.

My next step is to clear out one comp and only use this program on it so that our so called experts back at roxio cant blame the problems on other software interfering.

All programs should have an error message listing. If they did they wouldn't need some of these useless foriegn tech support people.

I have 9 comps going and do a great deal of video work so I think I know just a little bit of what i'm doing.

You need to be part of the solution not the problem.

By-the-way thanks for the feedback.

If you will not answer the questions that are asked of you, how do you expect anyone to help you???

If you worked on early software, you are aware of brevity? laugh.gif

How much video work could you do in 1964? 1974? 1984?

I have installed V9 about 10 times (beta testing included) and have yet to see any of the "problems" you seem to encounter… Perhaps you are overdue on a complete format. Also FYI. V10 is the current product and I do not think you will ever see another fix for V9.

What are you talking about?

Answer what questions?

BREVITY is a cost savings technique like not providing a hardcopy of the manual. It has nothing to do with reliability, usability, and/or user friendly programming.

I'm asking for an error message listing that is programmed into the program when it's developed. What do you think these error messages appear like magic? There is a specific reason for everyone.

What did I do.

In 1964 I worked with and programmed Honeywell Mainframes with patch cords.

In 1974 I owned the first PC by Radio Shack. No Programs to buy had to develop everything using Basica.

In 1984 I worked on the Rolm 1602B used by the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps and used as the prime computers for the Space Shuttle. I not only worked the hardware I wrote the manuals.

Anymore questions???????

In 1983 I went to ROLM's computer school in San Jose, CA which was paid for by the US Army and then in 1984 I worked on the Rolm 1602B computers used by the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps and used as the prime computers for the Space Shuttle. I not only worked the hardware I wrote the manuals.

Anymore questions??????? Or would you like copies of all of my certificates, degrees and diplomas?

By the way my friend this forum is filled with people having every kind of possible problem you could have with this software. If you are not experiencing any these problems you must be a genius.

THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RESOLVE EVERYONE'S PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![color=#FF0000]
