When I try to send a photo using my default mail program(Outlook Express), with the.. format photo as html.. option checked off, a window appears with the photo in the body of the window, which I want but, it doesn't give me the option to send the mail or write a message. I can't do anything within the window that appears. It shows Unicode (utf-8) at the top of the mail window.
If the ..format photo as html.. is unchecked, then the window that opens, lets me do what I normally can do with an e-mail but, the picture isn't in the body of the mail, it's an attachment.
How do I get the normal email window to come up using the format photo as html option?
The html feature in the options section of my email program is checked off.

Thanks

Webpages are built with a code called "html", and end with .html or .htm.

Photo formats are things like .jpg, .png, and .gif - what you are trying to do is use a link instead of a photo.

If you don't know much about how to build webpages, then stick to sending the photos as attachments.

When I originally posted this question in the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 forum section of how to/usability, I assumed that it would be understood the problem I was having was with the e-mail picture option of Roxio.
Because I didn't state that the problem was happening when I was using this Roxio option it seems that people may think that the problem is with Outlook Express. That may be the case, I don't know.
Hopefully I've made it clear now what I'm asking. If so, has anyone else had this problem and can it be fixed?
Thanks
P.S. Lynn, does your reply still apply?

It may help if you could explain exactly where in the suite of programs you are using that option from and the details of the steps you took. There is more than one way to email files from within the suite.

I open Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 from my desktop icon. On the window that opens, there is a list of options on the left. I open the photo option. In the drop down window that opens, I click on E-mail photos.
A Roxio E-mail assistant window opens. Under the add files on the left in this window, it shows Default E-mail client with Outlook Express in brackets. Below that it has, format photos as HTML. Both, default e-mail client and format photos as html, are checked off by default. It's when I try to send the photos with both of these items checked off that I have the problem described in my initial post about this. If I keep both items checked off, the photo file i've added shows up in the body of an Outlook mail window. But there is nothing in that window that allows me to pick who I can send the mail to and the "send" button doesn't even appear in the mail window. When I uncheck the format photos as html option, everything is as it should be regarding the e-mail window that appears. Meaning it allows me to send the mail, send it to however I want to, and write an e-mail in the body. It allows me to do whatever I normally can do if I was just using Outlook Express on it's own. However, the picture is no longer in the body of the mail window but in the mail as an attachment only.
What I'm trying to do is have the picture in the body of the mail, not as an attachment and be able to send the mail like I normally can with Outlook Express. Is that possible?

It works fine in Outlook. But I was able to duplicate the issue you reported (using Outlook Express). Definitely a bug when using Outlook Express.

The workaround when using Outlook Express is to choose Forward. That should bring up the To line and the Send button and still retain the embedded pictures. You just have to get rid of the "Forwarded" text in the body of the email.

Let us know if it works for you.

I thought maybe someone might be interested in using EMC 9 and sending an E-mail with a photo, while running Vista as well as XP. Works great.

Thank you Malatekid, your suggestion works.
You said that it works fine in Outlook. Do you mean Microsoft Outlook?

I just wish I knew how REDWAGON is able to insert the picture of the window he has in his post. If I was able to do that, it might have made things a bit clearer as to what I was trying to expain.

In Outlook Express, Tools, Send tab, do you have mail message format HTML selected?
That is the format required if you want to insert picture in the body of the message directly in Outlook Express.
As my default email client is Office Outlook the Email photos link uses that and it works fine, as reported by others. I haven't tested with Outlook Express asa default email client..

HTML is the selected format in my OE and the issue still happens. sad.gif

I have EMC 10. I made Outlook Express my default email client. In Roxio Home/photos tab, I clicked Email photos. added a photo. Format photos as HTML is checked. Clicked OK. A normal OE mail message window opened wiith the photo in the message. Looks fine to me. Sent the email to myself. Received it no problem. Did this with both OE already open and OE not open, several times. Works each time.

So if it is a bug in EMC 9 it is fixed in EMC 10.

Thought of one more possibilty: If you have the menu bar in the OE mail message window, click on View/toolbars and see if standard buttons is checked (that is the one with the send button)
