I recently sent my pc out to for repair, twice. The first time it came back I could retreive my data from the recordnow 7 but this time I can't. I have checked and my program is intalled as it was when the system was new but I can not find my data this time on the discs. The first time it came back I could. Any suggestions?

There are at least a dozen different programs within the RecordNow suite. WHICH did you use for the discs?

That was kinda dumb of me!! no, really dumb. I have record now 7. The first time pc came back from repair I had no problem recovering data but for some reason this time I can't. My PC came loaded with 7. Is it possible that it was updated or something? I have tried to recover the same way as before but this time my data is just not wanting to recover. thanks again

Belive it or not that answered my question but now gives me HUGE problems. Computer went in for repair need in new modem but the tech said that wasn't the problem so the second time it went in he deleted my hard drive stating that I had spyware!, so I have been reloading my programs from Compaq Recovery program (XP). So now the problem is I have no idea what version of sonic I had. The computer is 2 1/2 years old so I am sure that it has been updated. Please tell me that I am not in major trouble. Thanks for any advice.

If it came with the computer, Compaq should've given you a backup.
If not, you presumably installed from a disc and should have the disc. If a download - that's why it's a good idea to always make a backup of a download (on CD-R or DVD-R, depending on the size).
Otherwise, you can still get it on eBay or similar, and EMC 7 and EMC 7.5 are getting fairly inexpensive by now.
Er ... did you make the MISTAKE of formatting the disc you did your backup on ... ?

I reinstalled the copy that came with my pc and the programs can't be recovered. I did make a backup of the disc and the data before it went in for repair the second time. When it came back from repair the first time I reinstalled my data with no problem. This time when it came back the tech had deleted my complete hard drive and I can't get the data back. So, I am pretty sure that it backup up correctly I just can't recover the data like I did the first time it came back from repair. I still think that it is in the program but I am not sure how to find out which version I used so maybe I am just out of luck?
