Hi,
I have trouble when I preview my latest project. When I simulate from first play which is the menu in this project, I get an error "file path not found 10010". I have tested all the button links and they are ok. I can hop between chapters if I simulate from the first movie - but if I jump back to the menu the error apears again. I tried burning to see what would happen, but I get an illegal function call error.
I dont know how to debug this, can anyone help please?

sounds like something is corrupted in your project. delete your menu, save as another name, burn. does it work? if so, build a new menu and burn again.

Thanks Scott, I have tried creating a new menu and then deleteing the old, with the same result. The preview works if I miss out the first play which is the menu.
I will try your suggestion of saving as another name and burning with no menu.
I have rebuilt a new drive with all the software I use and so far have not had trouble with the illegal function call that I had when adding media to a title or timeline with my first installation. I could not find what was causing the problem, so I thought a clean installation would be the answer.

I have been through the procedure - saved the project under a different name, deleted the menu and created a disk without problems. I then generated a new menu and when the menu is previewed I get the file path not found error

where are you saving your project file? the menu preview video gets saved to that location. is it to the typical My DVDs file location that DVDit trys to save projects to or to someplace else? What is in your menus? where are the assets coming from? motion thumbs?

I am saving to the default location MY DVDs in MY DOCUMENTS. The menu is just some buttons linked to chapter points in movie 1 and to the start of movie 2. If I preview missing out the menu, all is well. The media files are in different directories, but obviously DVDit Pro HD knows where they are.

so where is your menu background? is it one of our templates or one of your files? maybe an inability to access our template graphics in the location you have your program installed in...? when you say buttons, thumbnails created by dragging a chapter point or movie point onto a menu?

The menu template is one from the pallet which came with buttons, that I have linked to the chapters. So there are no thumbnails. I have tried reinstalling the software with no improvement.
I am baffled - I have generated menus before in my old windows installation containing DVDit Pro HD which was on a different drive that I now just use for storage. That drive no longer has windows or any programs on it.
