I bought a new HP laptop with Intel Core2 Extreme processors, 64 bit Vista Ultimate, SATA drives, etc. The problem is: this system was design for Windows Vista Only, with no Windows XP drivers. That's why I would like to know if anybody knows if will be a Vista version of DVDit ProHD? If yes, when Sonic is planning to release it?

I can't speak for Sonic but this question has been asked lots since Vista's release.  I doubt you'll get any definitive answer but it's likely that sooner or later they'll be a Vista version but whether it will be for v6 or a newer version I don't know.  Might be awhile though as there's already talk of SP1 due out early in 2008.  Maybe that's what their waiting for.

Hi Paul,

Thanks fou your reply. Yes, I am sure the Vista version will be release as all new machines comes with it installed.
I was fan of XP Pro, but I have to say that Windows Vista running in this new Intel Processor Core2 Extreme 2.8 GHZ is fantastic! I know I have to be patient, but I am ansious to run DVDit ProHD (Vista version) in this machine... I hope Roxio/Sonic can give us some feedback!

I have the same issue.  I am considering running a dual-boot with XP to get around this.  But, I also read in a Videoguys article that they were able to run DVDit Pro HD on the Vista Business version with no problems.  That led me to another problem - - I can upgrade from my Vista Home Premium to Ultimate, but not to Vista Business (at least there is not an obivous path).

Re last post....I should have said that the article was in Videomaker vs. Videoguys.  See http://www.videomaker.com/article/13183/

I would think that if it would work on Business, it would work on Ultimate but I've not had much luck.  While I did have no errors installing, much of the program did not work for me so instead of playing around with it and seeing posts here stating it was not 100% Vista ready, I've removed it and patiently wait for the updated release or news of the update.
I personally feel they've had enough time to get an update out but I'm sure they have reasons for waiting.

Update on work-around for burning Blue-ray disk from DVDit Pro HD using Windows Vista.  My version of Vista happens to be the Home Premium, so I did not need to upgrade to the Business version afterall.  After attempting to burn to a Blue-ray RW disk, which failed, I created an image file.  Then, I opened that file and burned to the disk and it was successful.  You might want to try it.

I may just do that.  I don't have a Blue Ray drive but if you got that far, maybe I can too. Thanks for the info.
