I have captured a dvd and moved it into videowave 9.  Instead of opening with the scenes across either storybook or timeline, it opens with just one scene at the beginning, which contains the entire video.  It can be viewed, and split, but does not allow for editing unless every single scene it split.  I know I have previously opened files and they have spread all the scenes across the boxes, but somehow lately, only the one box has opened.  I have removed Roxio and reinstalled it, but I can't seem to get back to where all the scenes are visible at the same time.

If anyone can supply me with an answer to the problem, it would be much appreciated

In VideoWave, don't add your movie right away.  Instead, click on View, then select Media Selector.  Browse to your movie, right click on it, and select Scene Detection.  You can then drag all of the scenes down to Storylne.  Just drag it to the first window, and it will fill in the number of windows for the number of scenes.

I didn't expect a reply so quickly.

This method seems very convoluted for something I thought was automatic, but I tried.  It worked - and that's all that matters.

Many thanks

Frankly I find "automatic" methods to be a pain in a--. I prefer my clips without any scenes!

I will be the one who decides what a scene/chapter is, not some algorithm.

You are welcome.  It isn't convoluted at all.  It makes perfect sense to me.  wink.gif
