black frame when viewed on Apple TV

When I view a movie on an Apple TV that I've converted, it has a black frame around it. I ideally only want to conver once for Apple TV and iPod. What setting do I need to change? Other movies (not converted with Crunch) with the same pixel ratio don't appear with the black frame.
