Now that I got my issues with the Dazzle device fixed, I thought I would try and capture a movie from an old VHS tape and then burn it to a DVD. This worked great, except that when I put the DVD in a DVD player, all I get is the stupid default intro movie. I can look at the DVD and see that it in fact burnt the whole movie, but I can't get to it on the DVD. Did I burn the movie wrong?? I captured the movie through the Dazzle device and saved it to my hard drive. Then using MYDVD, I burn the movie to DVD. However all I get when putting the DVD in a DVD player is the stupid Intro movie with the corny music. Why can't I get to the movie??
video won't play

To what "stupid Intro movie with the corny music" are you referring. The only way to have an Intro movie play is if have you added it yourself. Or are you talking about the Menu? Could you describe exactly what you did?

What I did was capture a VHS movie using the Dazzle device and saved it to my hard drive. Then I added the movie the default project and burnt the DVD. What I get when I play the DVD is the default menu yes. However, I can't seem to get by the menu to the movie. All I get is the intro mucis and the menu screen on the TV. No matter what menu key I press, I never get to the movie.
I did find where I couuld burn a DVD without menus, but I have some movies of the kids that I want to put multiple tapes on one DVD. I found I can create chapters and I did that, but I can't seem to figure out how to play the whole movie.
Sure would be nice if software companies included instruction manuals with their products!!!
I'm trying to capture some VHS tapes in, and burn them to DVD. I'd like to have the menus and chapters so that I can skip around the DVD, especially ones of the kids where I might have a whole years worth on one DVD.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I looked at the demos, but it didn't help much. What I want is to have the DVD come to an initial screen. From here I can choose to play the movie of goto certain chapters of the movie. When I get to doing the videos of my kids, I would like to have the menu show different movies that are on the DVD. Like Christmas, Halloween, etc. When I click on the HOliday, it plays the movie. Thats what I would like, but I'm having a hard time getting there.

This is something that ggrussell & Merv posted some time ago, and I saved it. I can't find it in the forums anymore, but here it is.
To make a button for play all and a separate button to link to chapters:
Open MyDVD
Select a style with text buttons only. I forget which I used, but it doesn't really matter
Add your video file.
Edit text to read 'Play Movie'
Copy this button to the clipboard
Move it slightly up or to the side
Paste the clipboard back.
Edit the text of this second button to read 'Select Scenes'
Right click on the second button and 'Edit Chapters'
You end up with two buttons that point to the same video. One plays the movie. The other button takes you to the Chapter submenu.
After doing the above, you can then edit the background and background music if you want.
Life is good!
