I am attempting to import a home video to my hard drive. It appears to be importing. It goes through the steps of importing and the window pops up and tracks the progress. Then it seems to be complete and says it is complete. I have an icon in the destination folder. But the folder is empty. The video isn't there.
What can I do to correct this?
Thanks for all your help.

You have not provided any information on what you are capturing from, what program you are using to capture, or how whatever you are trying to capture from, is connected to your computer.
Without that information, it is not possible to help you.

You don't need to capture at all. Make a folder on your hard drive, and copy the files for the DVD into that folder.
If you are going to edit the files, open VideoWave, click on View, click on Media Selector, browse to the folder that you saved the files to, click on the Video_TS folder, and bring in the .vobs for editing.

Thank you so much for all your help.
I did have to change the files from a VOB file to a .mpg file for them to work for some reason. What I mean is, I copied the files into my hard drive as you instructed. Then when I tried to drag them into VideoWave, they would not. So I changed the file names to a .mpg extension and it worked.
I have no idea why I had to do that.
But it is working now and thank you so much for your help!
