I'm using Toast 7.1.2 (upgraded) to record to a La Cie d2 DVD-RW via firewire. The software came bundled with the drive. I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.10.
When I try to play a track from within Toast (using the controls at the bottom of the window) I get an error: "Sound playback has been disabled due to a configuration incompatability. Please set the audio output frequency in the Audio MIDI setup utility, then reopen this application."
When I open Audio MIDI setup, "Output not supported" is displayed, greyed out, in the output section.
I don't know if this is an OS or a Toast issue. I did remove all Toast and Roxio files, and reinstalled Toast and Spin Doctor, but the problem persists.
Any ideas what I can do?

Do you have some kind of audio device connected to your Mac? In Audio Midi Setup at the top of the window you'll see "Default Output" and "System Output". If you want to hear the audio through the Mac's speakers these should be set to Built-in Audio.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
