Having had EMC 9 for nearly a year now and gone through a lot of problems when I started to use it, problems I may add that were solved by the advice given by the many fine members of this forum, I am currently using the suite the way I originally expected I would use it......no problems.
Here is how I "cracked it".

2 months ago I was forced to format my hard drive and reinstall XP Home.

I methodically updated XP before installing any other software.

Latest graphics card drivers, Div X, X-Vid, Direct X and even IE 7. Not however Media Player 11.

I then started to install other applications including EMC 9.

Regarding 9, I installed without any problem including the Content Disc.

Up until now I would class all the above as a proper " clean install".

I also replaced both internal drives with the latest LG models as the original drives were playing up.

Using 9 since then has been great without any problems. ( Not one coaster produced )

My conclusions from all the above is that when I installed EMC 9 a year ago my machine was obviously full of
"cr*p" which conflicted with 9 and gave me all my initial problems.

The "clean install" of the operating system and latest drivers before I re-installed EMC 9 has 9 performing how I expected it to perform a year ago.

Life is good again on the creative front. biggrin.gif

I agree completely there Brian - but try telling that to the ones who have a hard drive full of assorted stuff that has accumulated over the years - heck, most of them throw a wobbly fit if you even suggest they defrag and run spyware checks laugh.gif
