O.K., I've searched all the available forums for help with this and so far there does not seem to be a solution posted.  (The latest posts I've been able to find are from Oct 2006 to Jan 2007).

THE PROBLEM: When tryng to insert a picture (Add Image) into Label Creator EMC9, the program opens My Pictures file and immediately displays "Label Creator has encounterd a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."  I click Don't Send and the program closes.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED:  Uninstall and Clean reinstall as recommended by information in the forums.  This has been performed about 3 times.

Does anyone have any further ideas or suggestions?  I am comfortable with computers but not enough to mess around with the registry.

Any help is appreciated.

Bundled EMC9 for HP tx1040ea laptop. Running Vista.

I'm just in the same case, I was able to load images in the past... but at some point Express Labeller v3 began to return this error message:

"Access violation at address 75F44F56 in module 'shell32.dll'. Write of address 75F44F56."

Sometimes address is 75F44F856. And, when launched from EMC9 tools menu, it just closes Labeller v3 as soon as you try to open the background image search window. ("Importar fondo" Împort background) in my Spanish version) This happens once or twice... then if you insist (I did) you finally get the above error  message. Taks manager is the only way I've found to remove de remaining Labeller v· "dead" window.

I've also done clean install several times and (as a very annoying work-around) I've renamed the file I was trying to load with the same name of one of the preexisteing backgrounds... and placed it in the appropriate directory (renaming the original one... of course). This way I finally managed to create the label with the image I needed. Certainly NOT a sollution...

So I'll also say: PLEASE HEEEEELPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

Kind regrads from the Canary Islands.

Hoping this sheds some light on the label creator issue...

Mine was working fine until I installed the trial version of Visual Studio 2005. I tried uninstalling the C++ extension, but that didn't fix the problem.

HOWEVER, as a work around, I did the following:

I had created my label image in Photoshop anyway, so I had the entire label available as a JPG. I went out to Windows Explorer and copied the JPG to the clipcoard (Right Click, Copy) and then went back to Label Creator and pasted the image from the clipboard right into Label Creator. It works fine.

Hope that helps. If I solve the problem I will post the solution.

Good luck!
