Sonic Backup MyPC, Version 5.0

I have allowed backup (v.5 - I know; so old - wonder if there are updates?!) to run scheduled daily backups for 2 years, and I have successfully restored from them, haphazardly.

How do I check if my backup is done (there are a whole lot of dates on the DVD - am so confused), all backups are numbered, etc.

Tried comparing data - but don't know what I'm doing - is it known to be user friendly?

Who can help?

Lost! ohmy.gif

There is a veify option withing BUMP. That being said, you will not be able to verify a bckup from 2 years ago as much of what you backed up will have changed. Also if you are doing multiple DVDs output, the verify process will require reloading of the DVD's to verify.
The backups you are doing, are they full, differential, or incremental. If not full or differential, it will take forever to restore with 600+ disks.
Other problems I have seen have been with the catalog, it seems when it gets large, can be corrupted.

There is a new version, BUMP 2006 (ver 6), and to get it you have to purchase it. There may be an upgrade price. Another version, 7, came with EMC 9, but it did not have a Disaster Recovery option. I have been hoping for a new version that doesn't require floppies for DR, but with the new Back on Track, I am beginning to think they are dumping BUMP as there have been no standalone new versions for 3 years.
