Is anyone experiencing problems with burning lables on a Lightscribe? I have the Liteon lightscribe DVD burner, runing the HP lightscribe program, and trying to burn it on a Memorex Lightscribe DVD. The problem I am having is when it finish burning the label it comes out blank. I get as far as print... I see my liteon DVD burner showing, but at the print preview window it does not show anything just a blank dvd and not the graphic nor text that I designed. Thinking that maybe that is how it is, but when it prints it goes through all the processing and when it is done it comes out blank. Cant use that side of the lightscribe DVD again.. Please help

The label side of a LightScribe disc can be burned multiple times! I have redone them 3 times.

There are 2 pinned posts, Here, that cover most things LightScribe.

Thanks for the reply, never knew that I could reuse it after it being used. But even if I can it still does not solve the no image nor data getting burnt onto the label side of the LightScribe sad.gif I read your link and have done all that was suggested.. Any more suggestions ?

Did you select the Label and only the label for your printout?

If yes, I would propose downloading and running the 'Diagnostics Tool' from

http://www.lightscribe.com

That small tool will test your registry for wrong entries regarding lightscribe and repair them if necessary.

Yes I did that and it tested OK.... When I had the trial version of Nero Burn it worked I was able to burn labels. Got hooked on it, When it expired, I chose to upgrade my Roxio 6 because it is great for making music CD's.. Now I am trying to use it to do my Labels and does not seem to work sad.gif ..... I guess I'm the only one this is happening with sad.gif

For testing, if it's a burner or a software problem you can download the free 'LightScribe Tamplate Labeler' from http://www.lightscribe.com smile.gif

Hi! You are not alone! I am having same issues with label burning. Mine starts to burn and when complete... all I have is a partial burn, normally a thin circle. Very frustrating!. I just installed NERO 8 hoping this would resolve but no luck. I plan on installing lightscribe diagnostic tool later and hope to resolve but not counting on it. I hope someone can shine light on this...

You picked the LightScribe text template. Pick any normal template, make changes that you want, then print to your LightScribe burner.

I did that and was able to use their templates and it came out fine, their template I use was able to burn on the Lightscribe side of the DVD. When I use Roxio nothing, still comes out blank.

Yes that works, but why after spending so much money for a product that have that feature does not work and have to seek 3 party software to get the job done. Am I the only one that thinks Roxio "Sucks" trying to be a one stop shop and have more problems than solutions. I contact tech support, and we were exchanging emails back and forth to try and get it resolved. When they found out that their software was the problem they never contact me again. That goes to show people how good their product is... unsure.gif

Of course it works. You were trying to use a text template to try to put your images on. That won't work. You saw that. LightScribe drivers and software updates have to be installed to burn to a LightScribe disc with ANY software that you use. It isn't a 3rd party software. And, the Roxio software doesn't suck. You just need to be patient and learn how to use it.

Oh, and you're welcome. wink.gif
