I have a Tivo 2nd gen. DVR;
Toast 8;
Mac PB g4, running system 10.4;
and an external LaCie Lightscribe 16x dvd burner;  
I typically use TDK disks.  

My recording/encoding settings are:

Custom
Average bit rate: 6 Mbps
Maximum bit rate 8.5 Mbps
Motion Estimation:  Best
Reencoding: Never
Field Dominance:  Automatic
Aspect Ratio:  Automatic
Audio Format:  Dolby Digital
Data Rate:  Automatic

The Tivo DVR and Tivo Transfer software capture entire programs that I wish to burn. After months of success, I now find that instead of getting the entire 2+ hr. program, sometimes, only 35 minutes of the show has been burned, but it has been burned to the disk three times! Other times, only 1 hr 15 minutes of a show are successfully burned.

Have I edited shows without knowing it and created loops?  Is there some compression option that I am missing?

Any suggestions as to what has gone wrong & -most importantly-how to fix it?

Since you are using the TiVo-to-Go feature in Toast 8 I'm moving this post to the TiVo-to-Go for Mac forum. Notice there are threads in this forum dealing with an incompatibility between Toast 8.0.1 and the latest TiVo software.

Sorry for the inconvenience!  I looked at the thread, and while it's somewhat discouraging to see that others report the same difficulties, I'll keep reading for fixes.  

Is it possible to revert to the Tivo pre-update software?
