I downloaded some software and it went into a file that is for recordnow to put on a disc and when opening it, it says I need recnow.msi file. I have version 7.3 that came on my computer and there is a recovery disc but nothing else.

If it came installed with your computer check with them, as you have their OEM version of RecordNow.
