I've been having trouble burning a multiple movie files to DVD, once I click burn to disc or burn image to the computer, it gets to encoding movie and hangs/freezes at 42%. I need help (It won't work for burning to hard drive either .iso)

One thing I noticed it tries to give me an encoding preview I never noticed that before. Is this supposed to be disabled?

We use Easy Media Creator 9 Suite and run Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Ed.

Thanks in advance!  laugh.gif

Can you tel in which movie it is hanging? You could try just encoding that movie (to iso for testing) to see if you get the hangup. That might indicate that there is a problem with that movie.

Another possibility to determine if its amovie file problem is to rearrange the movie order and see where it hangs.

Usually you only get an encoding preview if the video clip is not DVD video compliant otherwise you should only be seeing a grey preview screen.

You stated that you were burning "multiple movie files to DVD" blink.gif . Perhaps you should explain a bit more what you are doing, what EMC 9 program component you are using.

Sorry, when I said multiple movies I meant on seperate discs like 3 movies three seperate discs. And the error occurs whenever I try to burn for any of them.

Our program is: Easy Media Creator 9 Suite

Roxio Creator 9 Home
Version: 9.1.068

EMC 9 has many different program components and we want to know which one of those you are using. Is it myDVD, Videwave, DiscCopier, etc?

If understand you correctly, you have 3 different movies and you want to burn each movie on a separate disc and every burn always hangs at 42%. Is that correct? What format are they? Where did they come from? How long in time are they in time?

I am having a similar problem, except my computer locks up at 55% of the way through encoding the 2nd movie.

Roxio is trying to blame the problem on a couple of Nero APIs that show up in the output from DXDIAG, but I don't know how it got there.

Anybody have any ideas?

I am using MyDVD and it hangs in the same place with every movie.

format I'm not sure, but I've burned sucessfully with this format before. The movies are probably like two hours or so. I've used the Fit to Disc option, so that they would fit, but with the best quality.

A standard 4.7GB DVD can only hold 60 minutes of video at best quality. I don't think using Best Quality with Fit to Disc will work, the quality has to be greatly reduced to get 120 minutes on the DVD.

Where did those movies come from? What extension do they have?

You're problem is only similar in that your computer locks up. Please start a new thread stating your problem with a bit more detail about what you aredoing, how you are doing it, etc

BTW, I have no idea  what you mean "Roxio is trying to blame the problem on a couple of Nero APIs that show up in the output from DXDIAG, but I don't know how it got there."

Mine did the same thing @ 9%.  I had it set to Highest Quality and it hung twice.  When I changed the setting to Fit To Disc it went made it through.  I've got other issues though, it has been @ 99% on Burning to Disc and 97% Overall Progress for 10 minutes now...

I may have to start a new thread for that.....  mad.gif
