I have a show of all still pictures composed in Video Wave 9 with Slow Dissolve transitions between each pair of pictures. In Preview mode of Video Wave or MyDVD the transitions are perfect. When I burn a DVD with no menu (to cycle for a kiosk) in either Video Wave or MyDVD, there are no transitions shown when the disc is played. I have replaced the Slow Dissolve transitions in Video Wave with regular Dissolve transitions and then increased the duration to 2.5 seconds with the same results, no transitions when the disc is played. I don't remember ever using Slow Dissolves before, but I want it here. The slides are timed to the background audio and come out way behind without the transitions. Can you help me?

Has this worked in the past? Test the length of your finished product. Is it the correct length compared to the end time in MyDVD or VideoWave? If it is just making the DVD without any transitions, it should be longer since the transitions take away time from the slide when disolving. For example, ten slide at 5 seconds each last 50 seconds with no transitions. With a 2.5 second slow disolve between each slide, the overall time is reduced to 27.5 seconds. This can help point in the right direction. Check for video driver and DirectX updates. Are you set for hardware or software rendering (Tools -> Options)? It should be set to hardware if possible.

Thanks Mark. I will check those things. Over the last few months I've made several similar shows and never had a problem like this. Finally, I just gave up on revisions and started over from scratch in the Slide Show Assistant. First burn, everything is just perfect (like in the previews). Have no clue about what happened before. (It was really nice to have a list of the 65 slides in order from the option Find Panel to make the new show.) Thanks for your help.

Paul, use VideoWave to create your production, instead of the Slide show assistant.

I do it both ways, Bruce, but I find it is easier to start in the Slide Show Assistant if I have a bunch of pictures and don't have any preconceived ideas about ordering them. It's so easy to move them around in the Assistant and then develop the show in VideoWave.

If you insist on using one of the Slide Show Assistants, use the one with three steps. In the third step, you can edit in VideoWave. Do your final checks there. Save the production as a VideoWave project. You'll be able to go back and do any necessary corrections there.
