Im using toast 7 on an iMac Intel.... I'm having trouble getting my burnt dvd's to play music and photos together... I burn both to the dvd, but I cant get the music to shuffle and play while the slideshow is showing, or vise versa. I know dumb...but need help.

If you are making a Toast DVD slide show (dragging photos into the Video window with DVD video selected as the format) there is no option for adding audio. iDVD does this but not Toast.
Alternatively you can use Motion Pictures that's bundled with Toast to create a motion slide show with audio. However, note there are some posts here indicating some bugs in that application. Be sure to download the Motion Pictures 2.1.4t update from Roxio's updates page. Edit: That update may requires you to have Toast 8. You might try using iMovie or Photo-to-Movie to make your slide show with sound if you aren't going to use iDVD.
