Can't add .tivo file to MyDVD 9 Project

I transferred a show from my Series 3 TV to my PC. I want to create a DVD so I open MyDVD 9 from within Roxio Creator 9. I click on Add Movie and select the .tivo file created from the transfer. I then get the following message:

"The file you are trying to use cannot be edited, and has not been edited"

If I convert the file to MPEG4 first, I can then add it to a project. I thought that Roxio 9 supported .tivo files.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

From a post by another tivo user, it seems that the tivo files from their latest software are copy protected and can't be edited.

This is down to DRM and there's nothing that can be done I'm afraid.

Andy - stop asking how to circumvent DRM - it's ILLEGAL to do so

B.S. - You telling me a soap opera recorded on a standard station (not HD) is protected? Or a replay of a football game? Or my nightly local news cast? I think not....

So what good is TivoToGo then if ALL downloaded programing on Tivo series 3 is DVM?

So how is it Tivo 2 users are able to do this?

I'm not asking do to a darn thing illegal - I want Tivo/Roxio to come through on their promise to burn downloaded media.

I'm going to keep asking.

I hate to tell you this, but the answers you are getting are right. We cant copy/convert/edit copy protected content. You can keep asking but you wont get any different answers.

Your beef is with TiVo, not us.
