Want me to post a screenshot of all the Version 9 files showing up in the file folder?

I had the same problem:
Eventually, I uninstalled the program and started over. Disabled Drag to disk in msconfig but still get the DLA error notice.
Roxio Creator 9 Home
Version: 9.0.088
Build: 900B88F, R03
Serial Number: XX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Copyright: Sonic Solutions 2006
Module Name: PX Engine
Build: 3.6.36a, 4
Copyright: Sonic Solutions 2006
Module Name: Roxio Core
Version: 3.3.0
Build: 3.30.45a, R9S
Copyright: Sonic Solutions 2006
I should have added that mine is a fully licensed retail version.
The patch uninstalled the EMC 9 program itself, but then couldnt find what IT had just uninstalled!

Wayne - never, ever give a CD key here - are you really that keen to give the pirates a way to install a free copy?
Your best solution, considering the reliability of D2D, is to go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it (it's listed separately)
The 9.1 update is actually a new copy but it won't do anything for XP installation (it only addresses issues in Vista)

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

This error has been seen before. It happened to me.
The 9.1 updater is designed to check your CD key, uninstall 9.0, and then install 9.1.
Sometimes it uninstalls 9.0 and then gets lost, leaving you with nothing. It is an error in the updater. The only solution is to reinstall 9.0 from your installer disc.
The error doesn't happen very often, so if you reinstalled 9.0 and then ran the updater again it would probably work this time.
Regards,
Brendon

I had an issue that suddenly happened where Roxio just stopped working, couldn't uninstall OR reinstall. Finally did the clean install and all is OK. Tried to run the updater after the new install and got the same problem, could not find a valid key; it's a full retail version, downloaded and ordered CD with the key right on the box.
Any ideas out there? Not sure I really need the update but there's no reason it shouldn't run...
Thanks...
