I can't transfer anything that I record. Everything works, I see all the shows on my Tivo. Anything that I have recorded,I get the little red circle with line and can't transfer it.
If the Tivo suggests it, I can move it.

I believe this means that when the show was saved to Tivo it had copy protection which prevents moving it from Tivo. The copy protection was placed on the show by whatever company (cable?) sent it to Tivo. If you have cable it could mean you local cable outlet is placing a copy protect flag on shows it doesn't need to. Some local cable outlets do this as standard practice out of ignorance, some do it on purpose. If you look at the show's info in Tivo it should be noted.

It is so strange what it allows me to transfer. It will pretty much allow me to transfer anything that I don't want to transfer. I have no idea how it know what I want and don't want to transfer.

No where does it say anything about locked programs.

It is easier to get the shows I want off bittorrent.

sports -NFL games, English premier league soccer games
Kids shows: Pokemon-Diamond and pearl, Ben 10, I also record movies for my kid- The Jetsons movie and all other movies that I have recorded.

Just recently 3 new episodes (shows that I am already have and can't download) Sesame street & curious george both showed up and I was able to transfer them....

That's really odd, I can see sports events being locked, but kids' shows? Sorry to bother you with another question, but just one more thing... (Geez, didn't Columbo say things like that?!)

What cable channels did you record the shows off of? That's assuming you're using cable and not getting your programs off satellite, in which case I wouldn't have any experience at all with this...
