I have been trying to use videowave to convert mp4 files to a format I can use in powerpoint.

I import the file, can play it, select output as, then the program locks up.

any advice?

Thanks

Mp4 audio files are supported audio files; see Roxio Knowledgebase Article.   I don't see mp4 files as a supported video format in V8 but they are supported in V9 and V10.

Having said that, do you have the latest version of Quicktime on your computer?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I figured that.  Same thing; mpeg-4 is not a supported video format in EMC V8 ( it is supported in V9 and V10).   Can you use QT Pro to convert them to another format like AVI?
