I imported a video clip that has audio (not adding my own track) and it plays fine in the project preview window, but no matter what format I choose to output from videowave, the audio is not in sync with the video when I play it back. I am using a Toshiba lap top, one year old.

There are a few things that might help such as making sure your drive is defragged regularly and if it's a large file, splitting it into smaller pieces.  Some have had success with sync problems working with smaller files.

Thanks guru - the file size I'm working with is small - a 2 minute song and the computer has not been used much so not sure the defrag is the problem - in further searching I discovered that many have had this problem and there is apparently no sure answer or fix. Extracting the audio and adding it as a separate track seems like a fairly easy solution - however I don't at present have an audio editing program - was just hoping for a simple import, light editing, export for a live demo type thing, but alas that seems unlikely especially asa I read the trouble stories regarding burning to DVD! I guess it is working for some people.

Open Videowave, browse to the video file, right click and select Extract Audio. That will create an audio file that you can use to add to the music track and adjust to sync with the video. If you do it this way, you mute the native audio of the video.
