I recorded a DVD from a news cast (my son on TV).  I finalized the DVD and it plays on my computer.  But I cannot get it into EMC 9 - Videowave.

It is a .VOB file, so I copied it and renamed it as a .mpg file.  But still I get the error "One or more of the files you are trying to add cannot be edited and have not been added."  I am trying to add them by dragging them from the media selector.

I am using Windows XP and EMC 9.

Thanks, you guys are always such a great help!

If you use Copy you should be able to copy the audio & video to one mpg file on your hard drive -- use this in MyDVD to create a DVD, or edit in Videowave etc. A VOB file is separate audio and video files combined into a sort of container.

I don't understand your post. There are no separate audio and video files on a DVD. The a/v are combined in the vob files which bamagal has already copied to the hard drive. Since vob files are just mpeg files, in most cases just changing the vob extension to mpg will allow Videowave to read them.

But how long is the DVD? Maybe there was more than one .VOB file. If so, it would be much easier to MediaImport.
