After my Toshiba Laptop motherboard died, I did not need to panic, as I had religiously backup up my HD with BUMP 2006.  I purchased another laptop expecting to be easily able to restore my data to my new one by loading BUMP 2006, but can find no option in the program for RESTORING the backup projects I have created on the old laptop.

Any advice is appreciated.. is Vista the problem?

If you have Vista installed in the new, yes, that is the problem BUMP 2006 (v 6) can not be run on Vista.
