transfer show size discrepancy

When I use Tivo transfer (Toast 8) I see in its window that a show residing in my Tivo is a particular size, once the transfer is made into my MAC the show is a bit smaller (by a couple of hundred MB). Can someone explain the discrepancy to me?

The show plays in its entirety; nothing seems left out.

OK; so i guess no one can explain why this happens; can someone at least confirm that this happens to them when they do a transfer?
