I would be glad of any advice on my blanks.
I'm trying to burn a VideoWave project through MyDVD, as an iso file. The problem is that although the project is good in VideoWave, a number of the still photos are coming up blank when I create an iso file. I've looked for other similar problems here without luck.
This is what I've done so far. Although I've previously completed a number of other projects okay, I've updated everything in sight and have done a Clean Install (TWICE) - no luck. Then I removed all the transitions and created another iso file - still got blanks. Then I replaced a number of the problem photos and transitions as seen on the last iso file, but that didn't work either. And, I noticed that the blanks moved around. Then I opened all the photos in Adobe and re-saved them - still no luck.
I've run out of ideas now so would be glad of any advice.
Computer wise I've got a Carrera Octon 64 Pro, AMD Athlon 64 3400+, Radeon 9800 128 MB, NVIDIA nForce3 250, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP

I am experiencing the same problem which still has not been resolved even after subitting a ticket to Roxio Support. See "Slides Missing from DVD Slide Show" filed under "Playback/Reading Issues". The feedback I received may be of help.

Thanks BJ. I've read through your posting and unfortunately there are no clues there. Frustrating isn't it. Especialy as there is always a deadline - such as to match an event like a birthday, or even self imposed. The more urgent, the more likely it'll go ....

I was able to get a complete DVD with all of my slides by first creating an MPEG file from VideoWave and then burning the MPEG file with myDVD. I output the slide show from VideoWave as a video file using MPEG-2 for DVD, best quality.
Try that, it worked for me.

Thankyou, BJ. Great, your solution worked. I just need to go back and re-synchronise the music (why does that happen !) It's a big project and I had all but given up. I was thinking I need to do it all again (another month glued to it)
But what I've decided now is that before I embark on another big one, I'll go the safe way and do a Clean Install. I think maybe the software was a bit corrupted when I created the VideoWave files, which could explain those blanks. But, anyway, your solution is a great work around and I really do apreciate your time and advice. You're the man .... or the woman. Thanks again.

Before you do another complete install (I've been that route), try cleaning up your PC using this free Windows tool (if things go wrong, you can always do a system recovery). I just ran it again this afternoon, and afterwards I was able to burn a DVD without any errors. Use Software rendering - it takes forever, but it seems to work better than hardware. I successfully created an "iso" file from which I can now burn any number of DVD's.

Thanks BJ,
I haven't been ignoring you, just away. Tried those tips and they worked. But, I've got to say that your best all round advice was using the 'output' option in MyDVD. It gives you a good few benefits. Probably should have known about that, but though I work on it, I'm a 'get stuck in and learn as you go' type. I'm grateful for your time and advice.
Oh, by the way, one other bit of advice I picked up from 'the community' was that working with photos/movies that are stored on an external drive causes issues. So I'll definately be copying to my PC drive before doing my next project.
Thanks again.
