So, as I edit tags manually within LP and Tape Assistant for WAV files, I don't see the "embed" option. As such the metadata is not visible within Windows Explorer when I confrirm the export. Certainly WAV files allow for metadata; why isn't the "embed" option appearing?

Metadata Doesn't Flow Through To Windows Explorer

As far as I know, there is no metadata embedded in the standard Microsoft .WAV format. Other formats like MP3, APE and FLAC use their own form of TAG IDs to include artist, title, etc.

Thanks Gary.
Context: I'm encoding my LP's via Roxio LP and Tape Assistant. Impressive results but this tagging issue is confounding.
Current status: After reading your post, I converted all WAV files to FLAC. I'll use Tag N Rename to populate the metadata from directories and file names. However, going forward I've noted that of all the tag info Roxio requests, it only passes the track title on to the Vorbis comments in the FLAC file.
Generally: Many software programs tout their tagging capabilities, but they're not really tagging at all. Rather, they're building a database of the file location and meta data and reading it back, sometimes from an added Windows Explorer extension. This is deceptive and of no value unless tethered to that app. After Googling for hours I have yet to find a resource that thoroughly explains what each lossless file type is capable of storing. I have also not found where Roxio discusses their tagging capabilities, especially with regards to Orbis Comments (FLAC).
Any info on any of this would be appreciated.
