There was no indication that Toast and Tivo Transfers are incompatible with Leopard.

This really gives Mac just as bad a name as Windows. Easier? Simpler? Helloooo? It's horribly embarrassing.

CP, are you not encountering the audio delay bug that many of us have been encountering when transferring material from our Tivos? That's the one where the audio and video get significantly out of sync. Have you burned anything to DVD, or are you just doing iPod transfers? And do you ever transfer shows of an hour or more in length? (Some folks seem to see the problem get worse on longer programs.) Or maybe it is just tough to see the delay on an iPod compressed program? I've never tried watching video on an iPod, but imagine that something is lost over a full sized screen.
Hope you don't mind the questions. I'm just trying to get some sort of a handle on when this problem does and does not crop up. Thanks!

Are you not getting the audio sync issue?

I'm not, but I'm running 8.0 and I'm not getting any audio sync issues.... My dual G5 (PowerPC) is on 10.4.11.
I have the .dmg 8.3 upgrade ready to install.... but I hesitate to even try it for fear of the audio sync issues I've read about on this forum (as well as tivocommunity)

A couple of questions if I might:
(1) Was the problem you were having that prompted you to call Roxio the audio sync problem?
(2) Are you transferring Tivo files with the goal of making DVD copies, or are you using them for some other purpose (say, watching them on iPod, or on your computer with Quicktime)?
and
(3) Presuming you had been suffering from the audio sync problem: Since you've done these system maintenance tasks, how many programs have you transferred/tested for the audio sync problem? Because even my wonky setup occasionally gets one right - are you sure you didn't just get lucky with one file?
I ask all of these questions because this seems like just another one of Roxio's shotgun fixes that really doesn't address the root of the problem. If they have determined that this is the 'golden' fix for the problem, why aren't they proclaiming it from the rooftops? I am, as you might be able to tell, skeptical.
Still, I'm going to give this one a try. Maybe pigs can fly!

Well, if that fix was intended to address the audio sync problem, it didn't work any better than any of the last five suggestions Roxio made to "fix" it. I encoded two hour-long programs, and both suffered from a significant loss of sync.
Roxio, do we even know what the cause of this problem is? Is it, as FreshBurn suggests, purely a Tivo-side problem? What the heck is going on?

And I'm having a *nightmare* transferring most shows. I need to fiddle some more with it, but I'm wondering... One is plugged into an ethernet cable, one has an SMC USB wireless dongle, and the third a Tivo branded adapter. The one with the Tivo adapter seems to be working, the other two choke constantly on transfers, at least on Autotransfers.
I've deleted and resetup the autotransfers. They still choke. I've rebooted the tivo and computer numerous times. They still choke. I'm at my wits end here.
And.... AND... I have the "out of sync" issue with the few programs I've grabbed from the Tivo that will transfer programs...
I am not a happy camper right now. And, as the "Mac Option" of TivoToGo, you'd think that Tivo and Roxio would be working together to fix things... AND SOON.

NOT TiVo Side. I get the same sync issues with NON-Tivo files. In the samples I ran, it seems to be the encoder on Roxio. This is probably why they are looking at permissions and stuff.
If I take a file captured with MythTV, and use Toast to create a DVD, I get a Sync Issue.
If I take a file from TiVo transfered with a shareware Application, use Compressor and DVD Pro, no Sync issue.
Issues are with Roxio and their compressor.
