Hi there,
I'm looking for software to convert my old LP collection to digital. According to the comparison page for the 3 RecordNow levels (regular, Premier, and EMC Suite 10) all 3 will convert and allow me to enhance these LPs. Is this so? Looking at the overview for the 3, one would assume that the basic version doesn't do it, though the comparison chart indicates otherwise.
Also, assuming I'll be getting it, how does the LP player (hooked into a receiver) hook to the computer? I have a piece of hardware from Dazzle that allows me to hook L and R audio to a USB port (video too, but it's not needed for this) but I've never used it. Would RN 9 allow me to search for where the audio's coming from and find the piece of hardware?
Sorry, but I'm a newbie in converting analog to digital.

You go from pre-amp out on your amplifier or record player to line-in jack on the computer. you may have to buy a cable that has the right connectors. Then set your sound card to record from "line-in" and uncheck the Mic box on the sound card. Its a little tricky, so try to record to MS sound recorded first-it will only give you about 20 seconds of recording. If it works in MS sound recorded, then try your software program. Let me know if you have trouble recording to MS sound recorder and I will try and walk you the sound card settings.

THanks very much, both of you. That link was especially helpful. I'm assuming that the regular version of RecordNow9 (as opposed to Premier) will do the job, and will probably go out and het it tomorrow. 'Course, it's being given to me as a Christmas present, so I can't try it for a few weeks.
Thanks!
