have an HP A1520N Computer running Widows Media Center with SP2, etc.
I have an USB external HP DVD 940d dual layer Lughtscribe drive.
When I try to eject a DVD from the drive, I keep getting a "DRIVE BUSY TRY AGAIN LATER"
message.
If I disable Drag To Disk from the menu the disk will eject.
If Drag To Disk enabled. eject does not work from the menu.
Any ideas as to wht is going on?

That's the Drag to Disc trait. It takes total control of your burners. Uninstall Drag to Disc, and use Creator Classic instead. Your data backup will be safer, and you will not experience the problem that you are currently experiencing.

If I do this do I have the capability to move CD/DVDs back and forth from my computer at work and home. I need to write files on one computer and take them home. work on them and then take them back to work.
I have Roxio version 8 on my computer at work and I do not have this problem.

You can use CD-RW discs or DVD +or-RW discs for transferring the files, using Creator Classic. Actually, if you are using Drag to Disc for doing that now, you are using Drag to Disc for the only thing that it should be used for.

I don't use D2D. The first thing I do, after installing any of the EMC suites, is uninstall D2D. But, if you like it, you should be able to use it.

BTW, to quote someone, just click on the Reply button. The Quote button doesn't do what one would think it should. sad.gif

It is not a "trait" of Drag to Disc!

I have had it and used it on all of my PC's from version 3 to the last version, 9 and it NEVER has taken over a drive!

It is a flaw in the firmware of your drive. Update your drive firmware and it will go away.

I do not think it is a firmware problem I upgraded the firmware for the hp 940e drive and it still does the same thing. It will not eject the disk. I tried it with an hp1040e drive and it does the same thing. I also tried with a Sony usb drive and it also exhibits the same problem.
A funny thing though. When I un-installed Version 9 and re-installed version 7.0 the problem disappeared.
Obviously something in the software of version 9 is different than in version 7 and is causing this problem.
Also version 9 seems to work OK with the internal drive that came with the computer.

On another topic; I sometime get a message that the trial version of the software has expired. What gives here?
I bought the deluxe version of 9 at my local Best Buy in March. When I got this message, the only thing that worked was to uninstall the software and re-install it.

The 'trial expired' problem is down to over-enthusiastic registry cleaners (mainly Norton WinDoctor/OBC) - they wipe an entry that causes that to happen

Search the forum for 'trial expired' to find the info on which key is involved and how to set Norton to ignore it
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
