I am really new to this type of software so forgive my ignorance on this. Here is my problem: I an trying to use video of my new son shot with my Sony Camcorder. I use the included Sony program to import the video to my computer, but when I try to add the video to VideoWave 9, I get the error message, "One or more of the files you are trying to add cannot be edited, and have not been added." Any suggestions on why I cannot edit the files in EMC 9?

I have been successful importing the video from EMC 9 but then the videos will not play for the grandparents, they do not have EMC. I have been using both to import but it is really eating my hard drive space up.

Any help is much appreciated!

That sounds like you are missing the correct codecs - try using gspot to determine what may be needed

I appreciate your reply. I ran the GSpot software it says I have the AC3 and the MPEG2 codecs installed. I still get the original error when I try to import the MPEG into VideoWave. Do you have any other suggestions for this error?

I have noticed when I import the MPEG directly from the videocamera into Roxio I get the following error in the Roxio Media Import screen
"One or more of the added files contains AC3 audio, which is not supported in this version of the product." ...Please see the homepage to for how to upgrade to a version with AC3 audio support."

The sound does not play in the import utility but when I put the video into VideoWave it plays with sound.

I don't know if the two are related.

Any help is definately appreciated.

Did your version of EMC 9 come with a DVD burner or a computer?

EDIT:

I don't know if I answered your question, I didn't buy it with either. I bought it as a retail pack.
