I jut got a Dell computer, with Roxio Creator & My DVD 9.0 DE as one of the softwares. I tried using it and nothing happens at all. I tried looking it up on Roxio site for updates or anything but couldn't even find it in the list of titles. Which one do I use? What does DE mean? What can I do to make Roxio Creator & My DVD 9.0 DE work? I don't know anything about computers. Thanks, Anfurnee.

DE stands for Dell Edition and is an OEM (original Equipment Manufacturer)

This is a cut-down version of the suite and can't be updated on the Roxio site - updates, in this case, will come from Dell

DE means Dell edition, which is a stripped down OEM version. You won't find any updates on the Roxio site for it, because there are none.

Nothing happens is pretty generic. What do you mean by that?

The software doesn't run, I can't use it to do what it's ment to do, like copy, burn, etc.

I tried doing some of the tips on this site.
and now when I try to open it a box pops up with this info. inside.
NAME; navcanci
TYPE; unknown file type 2.64 kb
FROM; leframe.dill

When I saved it read
AOL 9.1 shortcut 736 bytes

Then another box pops up asking to open with this info. in it.
NAME; registration.htm
TYPE; AOL html document. 16,8 kb
FROM; c:\program files\common files\roxio shared\dl....
When I click open, a different box opens saying temporary file, for a few seconds then disappears.
Then I'm back to nothing happing.

Thank you for help someone that knows next to nothing about computers, Tony.

I also have a new computer with Vista and with OEM Creator 9 which not only won't recognise my avi files but also doesn't even recognise my DVD drive as existing.

How does roxio expect people to buy their software when even their basic versions don't even work?

Roxio doesn't sell a basic version of the software.
