Hi, im new here i need some help asap if possible, im trying to import a video into Roxio MyDVD 9 and when i go to import the file, it shows a red X over it :/...ANY HELP PLEASE???
the video file type is .AVI, it plays on Windows Media Player just fine.

The avi file is likely a divx or xvid file. If it plays on WMP, you likely have the proper codecs but you might want to check to be sure. Take a look at this pinned post about a divx fix.

hmmm im running on Vista and in the Add & Remove Programs doesnt have that option to change or repair....and the other issue is that i have many diff Roxio Programs on the list and its not the one that shows in the tutorial...the tutorial says to find "Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite" i have the following

Roxio Creator Copy
Roxio Creator Data
Roxio Creator Easy Archive
Roxio Creator MyDVD Basic v9
any help please? :S

I am also having the exact same problem... and since i also have vista i i get the same set of roxio files in the add remove/repair program, which one should i choose to repair... or if possible could you also send me the DivXDec.ax file... thanks.

If you have the Basic version, sending you the DivxDec file would be useless as Divx is not part of the Basic version.

i'm not sure if i have the basic version or not (none of my program names say basic, but it came with my computer so i would assume it is)... what do i do to fix this problem?

There is no fix. You have a teaser program - one designed to give you a taste of video editing. If you like it and want to do more you have to buy the full version.
You can probably get EMC 10 for $50. That's a real bargain if you want to upgrade. If you can get the Deluxe, it has a USB capture device for getting analog movies from video equipment to you computer.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
