No ideas from me, but I have the same problem. I actually had no problems with EMC8 - I should never have installed te update. As a result, ISO files have associated with Disk Copier, the auto update manager keeps saying that I have updates available because it sill thinks I have the old version, and Creator Classic is now crashing. Lovely!

Get the build number from one of the programs (open VideoWave) and do the help/about from there.

If memory serves, the first update was removed because users did not follow a correct installation procedure.
Just for discussion, once you download the file and before you installed it, did you disconnect from the internet, run your malware programs, defragged your discs, shut down and rebooted, shut down all your programs other than what Windows needs to have running and only then install the update? Sounds like a lot but it really saves time in the long run. I recently tried an update to another program without doing the steps and I had conflicts. I removed the update, did all of the above and the update installed properly.

It's not really a matter of checking to see if the version incremented properly... the fact is the update manager doesn't think you have, and that's a problem. Your PC wouldn't be worth much if Windows update thought you had Windows XP SP2 when you still had SP1 would it?

Ummm... if you disconnect from the Internet while using the update manager to update your product, you get the error message "you must be connected to the Internet to finish the installation". If you're smart, and theck the CRC and file checksum on both the standalone update, and the update manager update file, you will see that they are both the same flawed file.

Hi Guys, please take note of this....
As stated in many posts here thought he board, this is a Roxio sponsored site , there are NO full time Roxio staff on here, any staff that may show there heads, do minimally over the few odd days if you are lucky, as to the question "do they see these comments?" the real answer is pobably NO.....
Everyone on this board are users just like you.....
some have been here helping there fellow man (they call them Guru's)
The only real way to get these comments to the right place is to post them via Job tickets or emails direct to Roxio ( Go to the contacts to your left in the menu)
Lou2247 Said: but does anyone else think ROXIO needs to get its act together?
Most likely, at least get a roll up service pack....
But i supose that main point here is, dont bother fragging Roxio here as Non of us work for them , and most of us have seen 100's of threats, bad comments, complaints...ect here and it realy gets a bit thin...
Dont take me wrong , i realy do understand why you have this anger , but placing it here is realy silly (reasion stated above)......
But in a genuine comment,,, i do wish you luck with the product , and all i can say is, if you want to move forward with it , place your issue here in the boads, and at least let a few people here try to help....
Have fun......
