I recently installed EMC10 and now find that, when trying to play some music I get informed that there is a search for Roxio CPDP.msi, which search is unsuccessful.

I would like to know just what CPDP.msi is and, if it should have been installed with EMC10, how I can corect this.

CPDP.msi is the installer in EMC 10 suite for CPDecoderPack_43.

If you have the CD it should be in the CPDECODERPACK_43 folder.

If you have the downloaded installation file extract its contents (using winzip or similar) to a convenient folder. Then when it asks for the file point it to where you extracted the files.

Exactly the same problem here.  Everytime I try to open Microsoft Media Center and play a WAV file, a Roxio Installer Window opens trying to find CPDP.msi

Since I downloaded the original installation, I have no CD source to find the CPDP.msi file on.  The two files I do have from the download are: RoxioContentCDv10_SQA.exe and RoxioEMCSuitev10_4737CA50R05.exe  Is there some simply way for me to extract that file?  I can't seem to find where they extract to... or the file simply isn't there.

The Roxio Suite itself "seems" to be working perfectly, except the nagging installer window opening when Media Player runs.  I simply cancel the window and move on, but it's an irratant.

Right click on the downloaded .exe file and, presuming you have Winzip or Winrar, select 'Open with' and extract the files to a folder and then point the program to the folder you have just made

A good idea is to extract both of the files (they're seflf-extract archives) and then to burn the contents of them to two CDs - that way you have the full set safe

I installed and then uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop Manager last night.  Ever since then, my computer keeps trying to install the CinePlayer Decoder Pack whenever I start up the computer.  Whenever I play a video or audio file, the same thing happens.  It always ends by asking for the CPDP.msi file.

I've just moved to China and left my installation disc back in the United States.  At this point, all I want is for the messages to stop.  Is there a way to tell the Roxio Creator 10 software not to get involved when I start up Windows Media Player?  Will the messages go away if I uninstall the CinePlayer or the existing CinePlayer Decoder Pack?  If necessary, will the messages go away if I uninstall the Roxio 10 Suite altogether?

Thanks for any guidance you can give to me.

While you can probably pick up a pirated version for a buck in China, do you really want to mess with your PC without the discs being in reach? – Bad idea…

Yes, either of those should make the message go away.

I am having a similar problem.  However, I go to the CPDECODERPACK_43 on the CD and run the .msi, but it tells me another version is installed and I need to remove it first.  There is nothing in 'Add / Remove Programs'.  How can I clean out the registry or wherever so that I can run the install?

Dear Friend, you don't need any guru. Resolving your problem is simple. You will be prompted until you buy and install Cineplayer DVD Decoder Pack.
In other words, Roxio forces you to buy another SW and pay $ 18,00.
It is a robbery. Isn't it?

Dan hasn't been back to the forums, since he last posted in Dec. 2008.  He may not see your post, which is wrong, BTW.

Are you having problems with the software?  If so, start a new thread, and folks here, will try to help you.

Wrong !   The decoder pack is to allow you to run DVD's in Windows Media Player.  Where did you get your information?  Certainly not here and not from Roxio.

I don't understand your post.  What did you do to resolve the issue? There is nothing related to decoders or software that costs $18.00 (US dollars).  Are you talking about blu-ray or HD?  Still nothing.  Please post a link.  If buying something work for you then I am happy.  Just remember that you did not have to.

Let's go back to the original issue.  The OP had the file but it wouldn't install/run properly.  Are you equating an installation issue with forcing you to buy something else?  Wrong again.  Remember that was was problem 2 1/2 years ago.

I used the bolding because there might be a language issue and I wanted to emphasize the important parts.

I too had issues with the CPDP.msi

Don’t know why but this missing CPDP.msi thing just started happening this past week. I had installed my Roxio long ago and updated quite a few times to ver 10.1 over the years. All I could find is the RoxioEasyMediaCreator10.1_FA80AA50R13.exe file – can be downloaded from Roxio update section.

First you’ll need to make hidden system folders visible as the “Temp” directory you need to access is in a hidden folder called “Local Settings” – check “Help” if you don’t know how to do this. You can make the system files / folders hidden again later if you wish.

What I did was run the RoxioEasyMediaCreator10.1_FA80AA50R13.exe (it’s a self extracting zip) file again and when it got to the part where it asks you what language do you want to install? Go to the C:\Documents and Settings\your login name\ Local Settings\Temp directory and find the folder “WZSE0.TMP” and open it to make sure the CPDECODERPACK_43 is in there. If a WZSE0.TMP folder already existed before you started the install the folder may be WZSE1 etc. Anyhow find and copy the folder CPDECODERPACK_43  to a safe location (desktop or whatever) then cancel the install – canceling will delete all the files in the WZSE0 folder as well as the folder itself without screwing up the program already installed.

Now the next time you get the CPDP.msi install issue just click on the browse button and go to the “CPDECODERPACK_43 “ folder and you’ll be good to go again.
