Roxio Creator Basic v9 crashed

I have Roxio Creator Basic v9 on my computer.  It came pre-installed on the computer when I bought it.  When I try to open the program I get the following message:

I have already uninstalled and reloaded it from the recovery petition of the hard drive with no luck getting it to run.  The program ran fine when I first bought the computer, but something has changed.  HP is sending me a recovery disc to use to the computer back to factory specs.  Should I use the recovery disc or is there a better option?

My personal opinion???

I dump every piece of OEM software that comes with every computer I buy! They are cut down versions and never seem to work quite right.

If a program is worth having, it is well worth buying the fully supported Retail version!
