Invalid Key Code Cannot reinstall

Dell XPS - CPU 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM
I inserted the EMC9 installation disc, entered my key code and ran the "fix installation" option, which did nothing to stop the runtime errors that appeared.
I attempted to uninstall EMC9 using my installation disc, again entering my key code successfully, but I was instructed to uninstall via Windows-> Control Panel->add/rem prg. I did this. When I attempted to reinstall EMC9, I again successfully entered my key code, but the installation operation failed to complete. I was instructed to insert a disc, but the install routine would not release the installation disc. When I selected "cancel," the install routine went into a "reverse mode" to undo the installation. When I attempted to repeat the installation, my key code was not accepted - "invalid" key code.
Since then, I have performed numerous maintenance procedures, but the problem persists - "invalid key code." I have defragmented my c-drive, which is 69% free and has lots of contiguous space on it. I followed the procedures I found on this site to "clean" my c-drive of Roxio and Sonic content and references including running "regedit" to clean out my registers. The only Roxio references that remain on my c-drive are my libraries in MyDocs.
I would appreciate some advice because short of wiping my disc and reloading the OS, I don’t know where to go from here and so far, the support people from Roxio have ignored my queries. Thanks in advance.

For what it is worth---I had all kinds of problems with ITunes conflicting with Roxio and other software so I UNINSTALLED IT. GOOD RIDDANCE as far as I am concerned because I did not like that it took ownership of all of my music! It came with my Dell Computer which has VISTA OS so I don't know if VISTA is part of the problem or not.
Good luck in fixing your problem.

I would try the Invalid Key Code fix – Here
Then follow the Clean Install – Here
First, thank you for your reply - I haven't gotten much help from anyone yet - certainly not the Roxio/Sonic support organization. I've done that "clean" operation and much more. I used regedit to remove nearly all trace of sonic and roxio on my cpu (it's incredibly pervasive), and I've gone places that scare me to do so. Still, I am unable to work around the problem. The link that you provided for invalid key code fix is not functional, but I will do some searching to see if I can find this article herein.
Thanks for the effort, and if you happen to know the updated link, feel free to pass it along to me in case I don't find it on my own (need to do other things today).

Sunday Update:
I successfully executed the downloaded patch/fix and worked around the "invalid key code" problem and loaded EMC9. And guess what NOW - the original runtime errors persist as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer overrun detected!
Program: …d\9.0\Roxio Central33\Main\Roxio_Central33.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program’s
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must
now be terminated.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: …Roxio Shared\9.0\Roxio Central33.exe
R6025
-pure virtual functional call
IS THERE A PATCH THAT FIXES THIS PROBLEM?

Thanks for your input. I've already done all that: uninstalled Roxio and performed a clean re-install following the "clean install instructions" and using the downloaded Roxio patch that allowed me to enter successfully my key code. After all that, my Roxio installation is still AFU. The same errors appear whenever I run emc9.
I'm not about to uninstall iTunes because I need it. So far, I've gotten no constructive assistance from Roxio/Sonic software support.

I can read just fine, thank you. Like I said. I'm not about to throw out my iPod & iTunes because Roxio and iTunes are incompatible. If I have to, I'll install them on seperate computers! But I shouldn't have to!

I would hope that you are posting the same thing on the iTunes forums.
