when i attempt to open easy audio capture, the icon appears on my taskbar but the window does not open so that i can use the functions. when i right click the icon and click " bring to the front" nothing happens.
it was suggested to me by a forum member that i attempt a repair. i went to control panel "add and remove " and clcked repair on the top after highlighting  emc9. this is the message i am getting:
"The feature you are trying to use  is on a network resource that is unavailable".
what is going on?
thanks in advance

Sounds like the program did not install properly but before you re-install, go to the Windows start menu and select programs, Roxio ..9, then audio and see if you can run it from there.  Let us know if that works.

The repair needs the original disc or the downloaded file.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Is this a stand alone PC or part of a nerwork. If the latter, was the program installed on the PC from source files elsewhere on a network?

Use Windows> Control Panel> Add or remove programs> Click on the Roxio program and select repair.  It may work from there or ask for the disc.

If it does not, you'll need to uninstall the program and reinstall it.  You can try the short way - use Add or remove Programs to uninstall  and if that doesn't work, a clean uninstall/install.  Check in the Tips and Tricks area for instructions.

Make sure that before you try anything that you remove any malware on your computer and defrag your hard drive.  When you go to install, make sure your anti-virus is turned off.

i did everything suggested and nothing worked. seemed like the clean unistall was the only thing left.  so i followed that whole preceedure as suggested in an earlier post, i.e. windows install clean up, registry , removed all files on the "c' drive, defrag, and shutdown my anti-virus. i was able to install the first disc but when i went to install the second i get this message:
you must install emc 9 before installing content". isn't the first disc the emc9. i believe that's what it said after i installed it.
you all have been incredibly helpful. i hope you have an answer for this problem other than getting rid of this program that can be so frustrating.

Did you reboot, after you installed the Program disc?  If you didn't, it won't install.

i'll give it a try.

i did a total clean uninstall. when i went to the clean up utility. there were no roxio or sonic programs to remove . i proceeded with the other steps but could not delete the program files. at each attempt i was told i needed permision to remove. i cleared the registry. i restarted the computer and tried to install disc 1. midway through the installation i t began to rollback what it had installed. however, after the rollback , it said that the program had been sucessfully installed and that i should restrt my computer for the installation to be final. i did this and then tried installing disc 2. when i was given the command to install , i got this message:
The wizard was interupted before roxio content 9 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.
needless to say , this is really aggravating.what do i have to do for this mess to end????
thanks
