I can't seem to get my Roxio Easy Media Creator 8, in DVD and Video to recognize my JVC camcorder (new MG70, with 30 gig hard drive for media). My PC recognizes a new drive when connected by USB, but Roxio does not see the camcorder itself. This said, I just copied the folder of video onto my PC, easy enough. However, JVC seems to have some kind of propriatary format I guess. I have never heard of *.MOD video files. Each MOD file has a very small associated *.MOI also, I guess some kind of configuration or something.

JVC has their own software, JVC Digital Photo Navigator, that is really pretty limited. I would like to use my Roxio, but I cannot find out how to associate these video files with a MOD extension.

Any help would be appreciated.

THis came up earlier in another post. Apparently the MOD files are MPEG2 so renaming the file extension to .MPG should work fine.

Great, thanks for that information. I will try that tonight.
