Capture Video From Canon Dvc

I cannot capture in EMC 7 or Windows Movie Maker.  Windows xp os

Trying to capture from Canon DVC.  Won't accept in EMC 7 or Windows Moviemaker.

Do you have it connected to your computer via firewire?  If not, you will either have to get a firewire cable, or you will have to capture with the software that came with the camcorder.  You can then use those files in EMC 7.

I have a firewire cable.  Error box says "cannot detect capture device" in both EMC and Windows Moviemaker.  I will try the software that came with the camcorder.  Thanks.
