I have created a DVD that has a title menu containing a button to begin the movie. The movie has 10 chapters. The preview works perfectly. However, after I burn the DVD, when selecting the movie from the title menu, the movie begins at chapter 2 (skips chapter #1). I can select stop and then play and it will then go to chapter #1 which tells me that the beginning is on the DVD.
I have deleted the movie and started afresh and the same thing happens after I burn it. Any idea how I can fix this?

You might want to check your settings to see where you have started the movie. In My DVD (assuming that is what you used to burn it), right click on the movie, under "link" go down to settings and see what is listed under "go to". If your 2nd chapter is listed, then you need to change it to "first chapter". I hope that helps. Let us know.

I have the same problem in Creator 10, My DVD. I always have the menu selection set to start on Chapter 1, but it always goes to Chapter 2 when you select anything other than the first title. All titles are set to start on Chapter 1, but it doesn't do it on a DVD player. It works properly in Preview, but not in either of my home theater DVD players or my three PC DVD players. The same movies and title setups work perfectly when the DVD is built with another program like "DVD Flick". The problem is in Roxio Creator 10. How do I get this program to do the basic menu handling functions properly. Why is it skipping the first chapter when you select anything other than the first title on the DVD?

This is from someone's post from back in the days of EMC 9 and EMC 10.
EMC 9 AND EMC 10
Movie skips Chapter 1, if 2 or more movies added to MyDVD
OK. So maybe Roxio can't fix the problem, but after I lot of experimentation and test burnings, I found a workaround. Note that I am running EMC-10 (Suite) with MyDVD-10. I never had the problem in EMC-9.
1. Create your project in MyDVD with multiple titles.
2. For each title, right-click on it and select the Show settings option.
3. Select on the Starts at pull-down list and re-select Chapter 1.
4. Burn the DVD.
So far, this is working even though it is a pain in the ".
At the present time, I am still leary and am burning each multi-title project to a DVD folder and testing it with CinePlayer (which duplicates the faulty start location). Hope this helps someone else who needs chapters in multi-title projects!
Life is good!
