Should be EMC10, sorry. Copy downloaded from Roxio site.
After the initial pop up telling me the initialisation is taking place I get the following pop up.
An installation package for the product Roxio Cineplayer Decoder Pack cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package "CPDP.msi"
Is this file a part of the EMC10 download or do I have to purchase the Decoder Package separately?

Try closely following the Clean Install procedures – Here
If you have any previous versions or OEM installed versions, I would dump them too!

This has happened before with the retail package, and don't worry about the typo.
This file is part of the EMC 10 download and it's also on the installer DVD, in the CPDECODERPACK_43 folder in each case. It's about 32 MBs in size. It looks as if there has been a snafu as your download was unpacked, and the installer has lost it..
You have kept the files you downloaded, right? [You should always burn them to disc and store safely]. The best way to handle this now is
(1) the clean uninstall that Jim suggested
(2) You should have got 2 large files in your download. One is the program installer, the other is 'content' - extra styles and menus. Both large files are compressed executables, and can be uncompressed before use.
(3)Using WinZip or WinRar or a similar program, extract all the files from the program installer .exe file to a folder tree on your hard drive. Then go to the root folder and run SETUP.EXE to install the program. The content installer can be done later, either the same way, or by running the big .exe file.
It might be possible to avoid the clean uninstall by extracting the files to HD and then when you get the error popup just point the installer at the CPDECODERPACK_43 folder that was created on the HD. However since something has broken during your initial install, who knows what else is broken and the clean uninstall first is strongly recommended.

Brendon

I have battled the same stinking problem for two weeks with the down-load version from the Roxio site and lost thousands because of spending my time effectively chasing my tail instead of being productive. Extracting the files with WinZip and pointing the error to the ECDP.msi file solved the problem. I would be in a world of hurt without this forum and Google. Thanks to the solution provider.
